Multiply the first and last two digits of both the number and write as the first and last digits and write their sums in the middle .
- 37*3 = 111
37*9 = 333 ~ 37*3*3
37*12 = 444 ~ 37*4*3
37*15 = 555 ~ 37*5*3
- 15*35 = ?
Solve by three steps
Add the product and average of leading digits
(1*3) = 3
average =2
3+2 = 5
Multiply by 100
5*100 = 500
Add 25
500+25 = 525
So;
15*35 = 525
Another examples are :
35*115 = 4025
3*11= 33
average = 7
33+7 = 40
40*100 = 4000
4000+25 = 4025
- 43*21 = ?
Then follows,
Multiply both tense digits and write in first space
4*2 = 8
Multiply the unit digit and write in 3rd space
3*1 = 3
Now add the product of tense digit of first number and unit digit of second number.
(4*1)+(3*2) = 4+6 = 10
Place 0 in the second space and add 1 (tense digit of 10) to digit in first space.
